A rare and unique tour of Jerusalem’s Old City – “Discovering Jerusalem” – ending with desert surprises in the field
Discovering Jerusalem
Participants set out for a fascinating morning in Jerusalem’s exciting and captivating Old City.
At the heart of the activity are human encounters that touch on the multicultural and religious fabric of life – of the world in general, and of Jerusalem as the center of the world in particular.
The group follows a guided walking route through the four quarters of the Old City. In each quarter they visit some of the best-known craftspeople and merchants in their field, who carry on family traditions going back decades and even centuries. These encounters, together with the personal stories behind them, make for a fascinating and enriching meeting point.
These encounters, which include hands-on experiences and tastings, connect participants in the most tangible way to the history, folklore and colors of the place.
Between stops, participants visit a number of fascinating sites, such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Austrian Hospice, a rooftop lookout, Batei Mahase Square, the Little Western Wall and the Western Wall.
